Towards the Sun vol. 2
The exhibition “Towards the Sun Vol. 2” brings together a selection of Liia Leppik’s vibrant and emotionally charged paintings, in which the artist’s life-affirming attitude, temperament and courage come together. The exhibition focuses on phenomena that often go unnoticed in the rush of everyday life: light and its transformations, moods shaped by colour, the expressive power of a situation, and emotional intensity. It is in such moments that important aspects of life, authenticity and inner strength reveal themselves.
A defining aspect of Liia Leppik’s artistic practice is the exploration of the relationship between spontaneity and balance, as well as between intuitive expression and conscious presence. Her creative process is shaped by experiences and emotions that intertwine in a dialogue with impulses arising from nature and emotional memory. In her paintings, Leppik employs graphic and airy techniques, bringing a strong sense of movement and freshness into her compositions. Each work is charged with a vibrant use of colour and a sense of joie de vivre. Upon closer observation, we can see elements created through the intertwining of graphic lines and the forms that emerge between them, evoking references to natural surroundings, growth and blossoming.
The central idea of this exhibition - light - is approached by the artist both in its literal sense and as a metaphorical phenomenon. She explores light as an inner point of orientation that encourages us to notice possibilities, preserve our curiosity and maintain a positive outlook even in the present moment, in view of everything happening in the world. The exhibition offers an opportunity to contemplate the meaning of light, experiencing it both externally and internally. Leppik’s works reflect her characteristic affinity with nature and warmth of spirit, as well as a sense of playfulness and humour.
